Organic Farming

Organic farming, farming system that uses organically based pest controls and biological fertilizers derived largely from animal and plant wastes and nitrogen-fixing cover crops. Modern organic farming was developed as a response to the ecological harm caused by the use of chemical insecticides and synthetic fertilizers in conventional farming, and it has many ecological paybacks. Organic farming helps and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological action.
